Collaborative Law focuses on reducing the conflict inherent in most divorces, thus our motto of “Less Hurt Divorce.” The members of Spokane County Collaborative Professionals are committed to acollaborative process that protects and supports each person, and are available to assist them in finding mutually agreeable solutions with the help of knowledgeable, caring professionals who have received extensive specialized training. In some respects, Collaborative Law is similar to mediation, but provides more legal and expert support than is typically available in mediation. For families with children, Collaborative Law encourages a focus on what is best for the children, thus providing a positive, nurturing environment for the children while maintaining healthy relationships with their parents.
Spokane County Collaborative Professionals (SCCP) is a non-profit association dedicated to educating both the public and professionals of the advantages and strengths for using the Collaborative Law, also referred to as Collaborative Practice, instead of the older, traditional litigation processes that people often fear. This website also identifies all those professionals in the eastern portion of Washington and northern Idaho who have both met the extensive training requirements recommended by SCCP, and have chosen to become members of SCCP.

SCCP is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of high standards in the practice of Collaborative Practice. Focusing primarily in the area of Family Law, Spokane's Collaborative Professionals are seeking to change the adversarial approach to divorce.
Spokane County Collaborative Professionals encourages the use of the Collaborative Process for those seeking dissolution. Divorce does not need to result in anger and hurt. It is possible to divorce and have both parties feel they have won. Divorce is rarely totally without pain. However, divorce can hurt less.
